The Tribes of Alterra
The Planet of Eden in the Edom Nebula of the Ori Galaxy
Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there lived a race of hyper-intelligent humanoids. They had been evolving since before the dawn of the Eden Empire and many ancient historians speculated that they may have even founded Eden. In 14,000 BCE (Earth years), The 12 Tribes of Al'Terra called a meeting of it's government and ordered the immediate evaccuation of their 12 worlds. The final remnants from the Eden Empire, the tribes of Al'Terra evaccuated the empire's territory before the end of the Great Demonpyre-Eden War. They settled on a lush Earth-like planet, but the name of that planet is unknown. The Ancestral star system consisted of 8 planets, only two of them habitable, 5 were gas giants, and 1 was too close to the star to allow habitation. Much of the history from this time when the 12 tribes lived together on this Ancestral HomeWorld has been lost over time. There is talk in most ancient records of a war in ancient Alterran history known as “The First Desolation”. Little is known about the war, but the outcome was the evaccuation of the planet. The 12 tribes of Al’Terra: De’neau, Kastil Tau’ri, Zat’ar, Kobol, Manic, Tok’ra, Chappai, Stolik, Sharim, Ces'quel, and Ashan
Until AISC 2122 when the Ashan Tribe rejoined the De'neau and Tau'ri Tribes, many historians believed that the 12th tribe was lost forever because of the lack of information about the 12th tribe. It was later discovered that it was because the other 11 tribes regarded them as trouble makers. One thing is clear, the 12th tribe was responsible for “The First Desolation” on the Ancestral HomeWorld. The only 5 known references to the 12th tribe in previous Alterran history call them the "Shauva" or traitors, but they are never given a proper name. Many historians point to this as both evidence and a possible cause for the other tribes attempt to write them out of their history so that none could follow in their ways. That unknown tribe has had no contact between it and the other tribes in millenia. Over time, The 11 Tribes settled a few more worlds, which they named "Alterra", which means "New Home." The denonym "Alterran" means, "New Birth." They also colonized other worlds, but through various wars, 8 of the remaining 11 tribes were killed off. The only three that were left were De’neau, Ashan, and Tau’ri.
In 10,000 BCE, Earth years, the ancient Alterran tribes of De'neau, Tau'ri, and Ashan flew to the Milky Way in search of a new home. The Tau'ri vered off course and crash landed on another world, but the De'neau and Ashan tribes managed to travel to the Sagitarrius Arm, where they experienced mechanical difficulties and were forced to land on an unknown planet. The Alterran tribes met with another advanced race known as the Spartans. After a brief conflict with the Spartan Empire, they colonized the planet together. The De'neau tribe landed in a small archipelagio as well as on, what we now call North and South America, colonizing both huge landmasses. They founded such civilizations as the Aztecs, Mayans, Inca, and many other 'Native American' cultures. The Ashan left and were lost.
The two seperate tribes grew and expanded, for a time, but many wars caused them to split off into smaller empires and ultimately descended the society into chaos and ruin. This chaos resulted in a total loss of the once great civilization, save what was stored away in ancient temples and archives found on other worlds that were once inhabited by the great ancient society of the Alterrans. The De'neau tribe, over time, lost their weapons manufacturing skills, but not their language, tool manufacturing, or drive for spiritual enlightenment. The Ashan tribe expanded in another Universe until evolving into the ASHEN, a powerful and dangerous enemy. It was later discovered during the second Ashen-Alterran War that the Alterrans and Ashen were related.
